Zombie Cupcakes

Halloween this year kind of sucked. The kids and I were sick with possibly with a zombie virus or possessed by a demon. Either way, we couldn't celebrate in our true form. So I've made up for Halloween today by finally making zombie cupcakes. Yes they're brainalicious. They're even injected with what I call the Jam Virus (rasberry jam) and are tasty little decaying cupcakes indeed. Nothing much to the recipe. Basic Amy Sedaris cupcake recipe, mix a little green food colouring, cut open, fill with jam and top pink frosting in a brain squiggly type pattern. Done.

Next year I'm definately going to plan a big Halloween event and party. Complete with scary zombies coming out of the ground in my backyard. I adore the fact my kids aren't scared of such things. They know it's not real and that Mummy can kill any monster that appears. Kinda. Godzilla would be a tough one..

Stormtrooper Tattoo?

I've been thinking up tattoo designs and ideas for my first tattoo for awhile. Mainly in my head but this is the first time I've sketched out and idea, coloured it and been happy.

Introducing Storm Trooper Mickey. As I've collected Mickey Mouse collectibles since I was younger so I thought this would be a good start to my tattoo collection (I'm thinking about getting 3 tattoos in total eventually) and hey, my brother has a tattoo so I've got to get one too. I never thought he'd ever get one to be honest.

The cupcake is a nod to those who also bake and the Stormtrooper is from my Starwars obsession. Nerd bakers UNITE! I love baking (and had quite a cupcake obsession for a few years) so I had to get somewhat of a cupcake tattoo. I just didn't want to get a cupcake tattooed on it's own. That's been done and I wanted to get something original and combines my 3 loves. Cake, Cartoons and .. *thinks of a c word* Comics? No, geeky stuff that starts with C. Dammit can't think of it.

Anyway what do you think?

Star Wars cupcake

Finally made a Star Wars themed cupcake today. Yes just one. The above storm trooper was a pain in the A to make. It's made out of marshmallow fondant (first time making it for me) and getting everything to stick and it was small and fidgety. Plus I have 2 kids, a twitter account and my Mum on the phone to keep up with while making it. I now have a headache and am rolling out little panadol looking fondant balls to eat with my chocolate milk.

The frosting isn't suppose to be so green looking. It's more of a teal blue irl but my shocking lighting in my house and my use of my mobile's camera made it look icky. You can't even see the cool foil cupcake wrapper (space like) it's in. Darn. Shall have to try again one day and take proper photos during the day.

Cupcake Wars!

I did add these to a range of t-shirts for sale online but the online shop that does all the printing is pending the image based on a possible copyright infringment. Basically.. those cupcakes look a little too much like real Star Wars characters. Either that or my made up font (impact 14pt repixelled) looks too much like the real Star Wars logo. Get real.

Anyway, haven't been up to much lately. I've been sick the last two days but today my nose is actually clearing up. I'm happy about that. I can't say that having a Cold is the funnest thing to have. I hear Polio rocks. I want that. Yeh. No.

Hulk Hogan was just interviewed on channel Ten during the Cats VS Magpies AFL game. Now that's funny brother.

It's true! You don't get big 20 inch pythons (as the Hulkster liked to call them.. seriously naming your muscles is just plain silly) by not doing steroids or atleast working out every day for the rest of your life.

Now I'm off to finish watching the Footy. Whenever someone talks about "The Pies".. my mouth drools. I haven't had dessert yet.

Cupcakes VS Muffins

I have a muffin vs cupcake fetish. I came up with 'Muffins are just ugly cupcakes' years ago and the idea took off from there in popularity. YAY personally I like cupcakes better but muffins have their spot in my heart too.
